Description
The Red Eye Tetra gets its name from its red coloured eyes and originates from the clear water rivers in Brazil. Having a planted aquarium will suit this fish very well.
Red Eye Tetras are an active species and tends to do well in a tank with other active fishes like Danios. It is a little bit of a fin-nipper so it is recommended to keep them in a group of 6-10 or more to quell this behaviour.
They are omnivorous and easy to feed. They will eat anything from commercial dry foods like flakes and pellets, to live or frozen foods like bloodworms and Artemia. Some vegetable matter like spirulina and algae flakes can also be fed.
