Description
The Leopard Corydoras is a small bottom-dwelling fish that is native to parts of the Amazon basin in Colombia, Peru and Brazil. Their habitat includes small streams, creeks, pools and areas of the flooded forest. A blackwater set-up with a sandy substrate will be best for this fish. Decor can include tree branches and leaf litter, which will stain the water into tea-coloured. Lots of hiding spaces should be provided for them.
They are very peaceful and is suitable for many peaceful community tanks. It is recommended to keep them in a group of 6 or more as they feel more secure and will exhibit more natural behaviour.
They are omnivorous and will accept foods that sink to the bottom, especially sinking pellets. Supplements of dry and frozen foods like bloodworms, Daphnia, and Artemia can also be given.
