Description
The Glass Catfish is a very interesting species of fish to have in your aquarium due to the fact that you can almost see through them. Their glass-like bodies show off their skeletal structures in their bodies and also have a beautiful rainbow shine to them. They are found in coastal basins and rivers of Thailand. Their habitat includes slow-moving or standing blackwater, littered with dead branches, roots, and leaf litter, creating tea-coloured water.
They are generally peaceful and can be mixed together with other peaceful community fishes in planted tanks. They are schooling fish and is recommended to be kept in a group of 6-10 or more. You will see their natural behaviour of staying together in a tight group in your aquarium.
They are predators in the wild but will accept already available dried fish foods. Occasional feedings of live and frozen foods like Artemia and bloodworms will also benefit them. Be sure to give foods that sink as they like to dwell in the middle of the tank instead of going up towards the surface.
