Description
The Salt And Pepper Cory is a small, bottom-dwelling catfish with black patterns on its body. They are native to the upper Río Orinoco basin in eastern Colombia and Western Venezuela and lives in both clear and blackwater streams with sandy substrates. An aquarium set-up that mimics a river with a sandy substrate and driftwoods will suffice. A blackwater set-up or a planted tank will also be good for them.
They are very peaceful and will mix well in many community set-ups. Although they are not a schooling species, they are far more confident and active when kept in a group of 6-8 or more.
The Salt And Pepper Cory is an omnivorous fish and will scavenge the bottom of the tank for food. Sinking pellets or sinking foods will provide them with the necessary nutrition with the addition of live or frozen foods like bloodworms.
