Description
The Tinfoil Barb is a large river fish that is found throughout Southeast Asia. It mostly inhabits flooded forests where it is heavily vegetated with tree roots. As a large fish, a lot of open swimming areas should be provided for comfort.
These fish are not usually aggressive but will eat smaller fishes if given the chance. They are an active species so more shy and slow-moving fish should be avoided. As schooling fish, they should be kept in a school of 6+ in order to prevent fighting and display much more natural behaviours.
Feeding is easy as this fish is not a fussy eater. Commercially available pellets can be given with some occasional live foods or fruits for a healthy and varied diet.
