Description
The Marbled Angelfish is a strand of the species that has beautiful patterns of black, orange, and white on its body. This colouring and patterns create a beautiful marbling effect on the fish. They are found in the warm waters of the Amazon Basin and their habitat includes a lot of vegetation, driftwood and tree roots to help them find cover and protect themselves from predators.
Angelfish are curious about their environment and can become very territorial, especially when breeding. They are a little aggressive towards each other when in school until a dominant male is established. They can also be kept as a single fish and in pairs of male and female. Avoid mixing Angelfish with fin nipping species of fish as their long fins can be a target.
They are omnivorous and should be fed a variety of meaty and plant-based foods. Commercially available fish food can also be given. Live and frozen food like bloodworms, and Artemia can also be given.
