Description
The White Fin Rosy Tetra is a beautiful fish with a distinct white fin, making stand out in a community tank. They are native to several river systems in Brazil with a habitat containing stained brown waters from fallen branches, leaves, and tree roots. When setting up a tank, a blackwater setup is ideal as it mimics their natural habitat. Driftwood and dried ketapa leaves can be used as decorations in the aquarium. A heavily planted setup can also be an option when setting up the tank.
They are a very peaceful species and can mix well with other community fish. In nature, they stay in groups for security and will do better if also kept in a group of at least 6-10 or more. This will also encourage more natural behaviours and better colouration from them.
They are omnivorous but primarily eats small insects and invertebrates in the wild. It is an unfussy eater and will accept dried fish foods with some occasional feedings of live or frozen foods like Artemia, Daphnia, and bloodworms for better colouration.
