Description
The Smudge Spot Corydoras originate from the small creeks, pools, and areas of flooded forests in Brazil. A well-planted aquarium set-up with a sandy substrate and driftwood will provide comfort. A natural blackwater environment can also be used as its natural habitat is similar.
They are very peaceful and can be added to many community tanks. Do not keep it with any fish that are large and aggressive. They are schooling fish and is best kept in a school of 4-6 or more. Keeping them in a school will help them feel more secure.
They are omnivores and forages the bottom of the tank for food. They will accept sinking fish foods and can also be given frozen or dried foods like bloodworms.
NOTE: They should not be expected to survive only on the ‘left-overs’ of other fish or relied on to ‘clean’ the aquarium.
